The importance of this is group is that it brings our First Nation citizens across Canada together. In hopes of them feeling that they're heritage is protected and that they're safe against discrimination this organization has provided to over 900,000 people. Formed in 1978 from the National Indian Brotherhood, the group held it's first meeting in 1982 in Penticton, British Columbia. Since then, it's significantly assisted in helping those who have suffered from difficult pasts and history recover.
